Mount Fuji Architects Studio Receives the Good Design Award 2025 for “Entô”
25.10.17
— An “Honest & Seamless” architecture that breathes with nature and people
The architectural design of Entô, a lodging hub within the Oki UNESCO Global Geopark,
has been honored with the Good Design Award 2025,
presented by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.
The award recognizes the work of Mount Fuji Architects Studio (Masahiro Harada + Mao Harada),
who led the project.
Guided by the concept of “Honest & Seamless,”
the architecture was praised for how it allows landscape, structure, and human life
to breathe together as one.
Even under the unique conditions of building on a remote island,
the studio’s sincere approach to materials and structure,
and its harmony with the local scenery, were highly regarded.
This recognition reflects not only the excellence of the architecture itself,
but also the philosophy of “Honest & Seamless”
that Entô has cherished since its opening.
A dialogue between architect Masahiro Harada and Entô’s director Atsushi Aoyama
— exploring what “Honest & Seamless” means in both design and operation —
is now available on Entô Journal.
